5 Plus Size Mother of the Bride/Groom Dresses
Posted on April 22 2015
No matter what size you are, finding the perfect dress to wear to your son or daughters wedding is no easy task. This spring we have been busy helping many mothers of the bride/groom find an outfit they feel confident and beautiful in. It has been so much fun to help these women, especially after many of them had begun to feel hopeless about finding the perfect dress.
We've heard comments from many women that the selection of plus-size mother of the bride / mother of the groom dresses is dismal at most stores. They've sorted through frumpy, "mature" dresses and tried on style after style that didn't work with their curves.
In fact, I can relate to the frustration of finding the perfect dress. I'm getting married in June and have been helping my mother & future mother-in-law find dresses. We've looked all over and ended up ordering a London Times Dress for my mom and an Adrianna Papell Dress for my future mother-in-law. They're both going to look and feel amazing! I can't wait until the dresses arrive!
Last week a customer came out of the fitting room with tears of relief streaming down her face. She had been to many stores throughout Wisconsin (and even Chicago) and hadn't found anything close to what she tried on at z.bella. She ended up finding several options and ended up with two amazing dresses -- one for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding.
We are happy to say that at z.bella we've found several options that are fashionable, age-appropriate (NOT frumpy) and fun.
5 plus size mother of the bride / groom dresses:
This dress gives the illusion of a skirt and a top, but because it's one piece it lays very nicely and drapes along your curves perfectly. And everyone loves a dress with a sleeve. The silver color is a great neutral option for any wedding color scheme.
Alex Evenings is known for their gorgeous special occasion gowns. They make a variety of styles to appeal to just about everyone. This dress would be perfect for an evening wedding or cocktail reception. It's made of a polyester, spandex, nylon blend and is fully lined. It's stretchy, comfortable, and flattering.
This dress is sophisticated and classy. The champagne color will compliment just about any wedding colors. The high neckline and wide straps are bra-friendly. A fit & flare silhouette is a great way to flatter your figure are highlight the smallest part of your waist. Perfect for day or evening. Want to cover your arms? Find a metallic colored pashmina or shawl to go with the dress.
Another fit & flare style, perfect for highlighting the smallest part of your waist and hiding everything else. This Adrianna Papell dress is a great way to incorporate color into your look. The pleated skirt swirls and twirls with you as your move, and it has pockets (who doesn't love a dress with pockets!?!).
Who says you can't wear black to a wedding? That rule is out dated and this dress is a great option to wear to a wedding. This London Times dress combines lace and jersey for an elegant, yet comfortable outfit. The textured pintuck jersey fabric hides bumps & bulges. The square lace neckline is stunning yet sexy and lightens up the entire dress.
